Learn How to Start your own Edible Garden

Description
Always wanted to have your own little veggie bed in your yard but like us city folks, you have no idea where and how to start? We are blessed to have the green-fingered fairy, Aidi Aron from Estonia with us to teach us how!

In the last 15 years, Aidi was living in Portugal where she ran her own eco projects, worked the land, grew her own vegetables, organized small workshops ofpermaculture, organic farming, forestry, renewable energies, natural building, vegetarian cooking, healthy living, and yoga. Aidi is happiest when she could take care of land, trees and animals, and she loves watching seedlings grow and getting her hands dirty.

Aidi will be spending the afternoon with us at The Hatchery Place's backyard to teach us how to plant our own organic garden from scratch.

She will share with us her extensive knowledge of:
*What is urban organic garden
*How to recycle, get free materials, plants and seeds to get started*How to choose plants for your garden
*How to plan and design the space
*How to manage food waste and make compost
*How to grow soil
*How to collect, preserve and sprout seeds for growing, nursery
*How to create growing spaces with recycled materials
*How to maintain your garden
*Community gardens - grow communities through the sharing of freshly grown food, togetherness, shared space and time.

This workshop is approximately 2 hours and it includes talk and practical hands on (no digging!) ;) light activities & refreshments.

You can also help by bringing along your empty plastic bottles, such as water bottles, food scraps from your kitchens so we could demonstrate how to recycle and make compost together.

NOT - leftover cooked foods and NOT meat or fish
YES- egg shells, green scraps, coffee grounds, tea bags, fruit scraps, newspaper, empty yoghurt cups, tetra packs, cardboard..

We will put it all in use at once and have a great kick start for our garden while you learn from us.

Wear comfortable clothing because our yard can get pretty warm in the afternoon. As we can only fit limited amount of people at our space, kindly book your ticket so we could reserve your spot for you.
